ADUs
Accessory dwelling units
What is an ADU?
An accessory dwelling unit is a second, independent home on the same lot as a main house, with its own entrance, kitchen and bathroom. People also call them backyard cottages, granny flats or guest houses.
Can I build an ADU on my property?
It depends on your city's zoning rules, your lot size and layout, and access to utilities. When you reach out, we look at your property with you and talk through what's realistic for your site.
How much does an ADU cost?
Our 1 bed / 1 bath starts as low as $89K plus installation. Final cost depends on the plan you choose, your interior finish-out package and the site work your lot needs. Set floor plans keep pricing predictable, and you get a clear, itemized proposal before anything moves forward.
How long does a project take?
Timelines vary with design choices, local permitting and site conditions. Your proposal lays out the expected schedule for your specific project so you know what to plan for.
Can I rent out my ADU?
Many owners use an ADU as a long-term rental to help with the mortgage. Rental rules differ from city to city, so it's worth checking your local requirements as part of planning.
Plans and design
Floor plans and finishes
What floor plans do you offer?
We offer a Backyard Studio, a 1 bed / 1 bath, a 2 bed / 1 bath, and a 3 bed / 2 bath family home. Larger and multi-unit configurations are available on request.
Can I customize a floor plan?
Our floor plans are set and aren't changed, which keeps pricing and timelines predictable. You make the home your own by choosing an interior finish-out package.
Attainable housing
Community and affordable projects
What do you mean by attainable housing?
Quality homes priced within reach of the people who live and work in a community. Efficient, repeatable designs help keep costs in check across every home in a project.
Who do you work with on affordable housing projects?
We partner with landowners, developers, towns and nonprofits, and plan around each partner's site, budget and program goals.
Do you still build workforce housing?
Yes. We also deliver housing for large construction and data center projects. Get in touch to talk through your project's needs.
